For my birthday week this year, my boyfriend and I went on a road trip from Houston to New Orleans! When I think of New Orleans, I think of a history-rich city that has delicious food, amazing museums and jazz music!
Otherwise known as city with endless things to do and, in my opinion, the perfect place to celebrate my birthday!
Packed up in our Toyato Rav 4, Kyle and I were prepared to make the journey. It takes about six hours to get to NOLA from Houston so we gassed up and started our road trip.

A few tips to prepare for a road trip*
- Dress comfortable
- Pack snacks and water
- Fill up with the cheapest gas (I use Gas Buddy to see where the cheapest gas is)
- Watch how much you drink – you don’t want to make too many restroom stops

Driving a car that gets great gas mileage during a road trip is a huge plus! The Rav4 got about 30 MPG.

Other features of the vehicle I really enjoyed were Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Safety Connect, and the comfortable leather seats.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Take the time to stop and spend some time in Louisiana’s capital. I’ve listed some delicious places to eat and a few fun things to do. Baton Rouge is a great spot to make on your road trip to New Orleans.
