During our last trip to Disney World, we had lunch at Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom. This restaurant came highly suggested to us. People online raves about it as the place to eat in the Animal Kingdom. Flame Tree BBQ is located just a quick walk from the Tree of Life. They also do participate in the Disney Dining Plan which is a huge plus!
This quick-service restaurant serves a variety of BBQ meals such as various smoked meats and signature sides. Ashlyne and I are both from TX so we were ready to taste Disney Style BBQ. You know people from Texas consider ourselves experts when it comes to good BBQ. Ashlyne tried the Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich which is topped with coleslaw and served with a side of baked beans. I had the Chicken platter which was served with a side of baked beans, fries and coleslaw.
We sat in the outdoor seating area and munched on our BBQ. We were visited by a few friends while eating our meals. Prepare for these birds to get very close to you while you eat! I’m assuming most of the guests throw them a little bite here and there because you could tell the birds were waiting for their share of our meal.
Ashlyne loved her pulled pork sandwich and said the coleslaw was a nice touch on it. The chicken I ate was also nicely cooked and tasted delicious. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the baked beans. Overall I would suggest the Flame Tree BBQ as place to dine while at Disney World. Just as long as you don’t mind dining with a few fluffy friends.
