Thank you to Mazda for allowing me to drive the 2018 Mazda CX-3!
Today I would like to introduce to you the fabulous 2018 Mazda CX-3. For those of you that don’t know, I was in a car wreck this past August. Since the wreck, vehicle safety is something that is very important to me.
I think that the features of this car, such as the Smart City Break Support, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert helped me feel very safe while driving the vehicle.
According to Mazda.com, Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) helps the driver avoid frontal collisions while driving at the slow speeds common in urban areas or congested traffic.
“When driving at low speeds (approximately 4 – 30 km/h) a laser sensor mounted on the windshield senses the car in front. If the system detects a risk of collision, it prepares the brake system to be ready to deliver maximum stopping power when the driver brakes. If the driver does not take evasive action such as braking or steering, the system simultaneously applies the brakes and reduces engine output, with the aim of avoiding the collision or reducing the severity of impact.”
Another important feature to look for when looking at vehicles is Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Mazda.com explains that RCTA is designed to help you make sure it’s safe to start back up.
“The system uses the same radars and indicators as BSM to watch for vehicles coming from both sides and alert the driver when they come near.”
Features like Blind Spot Monitoring watch out for your blind spot while you are driving.
“Have you ever tried to change lanes, only to realize at the last moment that there is a car in your blind spot?Such close calls are not uncommon and can be dangerous. Mazda’s Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) uses radars mounted in the rear bumper to detect vehicles approaching from behind and in the adjacent lane. It alerts drivers to the presence of vehicles in the blind spot on either side by displaying an icon in the appropriate door mirror. If the driver indicates to change lanes with a vehicle in the blind spot, the icon flashes and a warning beep is sounded.”

Other features that I loved about the 2018 Mazda CX-3:
- Automatic on/off headlights
- Heated front seats
- Advanced Blind-spot monitoring system
- Steering wheel-mounted audio, cruise and phone controls
Another more basic feature that is a must have in vehicles for me is keyless entry. This is a feature that the 2018 Mazda CX-3 has and is very useful – especially for getting in a car quickly. Another plus is the estimated mileage for the 2018 Mazda CX-3 is 29 miles in the city and 34 on the highway. Perfect for when you have class on the weekdays and getaways on the weekends.
Overall I believe the 2018 Mazda CX-3 is a fabulous car with so many amazing features, all while being a vehicle designed with safety in mind.
