The night before the ACT and all through the house, you’re probably last minute studying so you don’t flunk out. (hey that kinda rhymed right?)
OR you’re googling study tips, or anything else ACT related. Well, welcome to Collegewanderlust.com! Today I have some tips on what you should ACTUALLY do the night before taking the ACT test.
For the love of God, get some rest.
This should be basic common sense, but so many people I knew during my time in high school would cram and stay up late the night before the test. You can read here about how scientists linked a good night’s sleep to higher test scores.
Prepare yourself
And what do I mean by that? Double check where your testing location is and what the arrival time is. Double check your alarm, that your ride is in check etc. Basically, double check everything the night before so you aren’t stressed about that in the AM.
Study
This is one of your last chances to go over all your notes and soak everything in. Space out some time the night before the ACT to focus on areas you have been struggling with or notes you haven’t given as much time.
TESTING DAY – WHAT NOW?
Wake yourself up properly. Caffeinate. Feed yourself a good breakfast. Take a deep breath.
Dress comfortably, and preferably in layers. That way no matter what the temperature in your testing site, you will be comfortable.
REMEMBER your supplies – ID, pencils, calculator, light jacket, and anything else you will need.
Above all, do what works for you. Everyone is different in their pre-ACT test strategies. I’d love to hear any you have below!
I took the ACT five times. I remember it well. I was always so nervous the night before that I hardly slept! These are great tips though!
These are great tips! Getting rest and eating well are essential to be successful in any exam. Good luck to everyone going thru this process.
