Since turning 21, I would say one of my favorite hobbies has become drinking wine with friends.
(Okay maybe before I was 21 as well)
My friends and I are always looking for festivals and events in the Houston area.
This is how we discovered the Wine and Art Festival in Spring.
What was neat about this festival is that all of Oldtown Spring and the surrounding stores participated. So many interesting shops were open in the area.
Before we arrived to the festival, we explored a few of the antique and clothing shops that were nearby.
We paid $35 at the entrance of the festival. This price included a commemorative wine glass and 7 wine tastings. Additional tastings were available for $1 each which was awesome.
Wineries from all over Texas came with their best wines for the crowd to taste. This resulted in a large range of wines to taste at the event.
Businesses and artists showcased their pieces as well. The items for sale ranged from art, jewelry, homemade food, housewares and about everything else you can imagine. Alot of these items were handmade, so this was a great place to buy gifts.
The fun thing about drinking wine with my friend Ashlyne is that we are into opposite types of wine. While I prefer a sweet and mainly white or blush wine, she prefers dry or red wine. We always sip each other’s wines as well which results in us tasting even more types of wine.
My favorite wine from the event was the Texas Sparkling Rose by Messina Hof. Ashlyne preferred the Cabernet Sauvignon.

Another fun part of the festival was voting for our favorite wines. Our favorites even actually ended up both winning at the event.
So of course because I’m me, I forced Ashlyne to do a mini photo shoot at the festival. I’m becoming a pro at finding spots for Instagram and blog photos these days.
Overall everyone was so super nice, the wine was fabulous, the art was beautiful. I can’t wait to attend this festival again!
Have you ever attended a wine festival before? Leave a comment & tell me about it! I am always looking for new festivals to attend.
Woot! I haven’t been to this one! I’m in Houston too 🙂 Thanks for the heads-up!
