Best Tea & Sweet stops NYC

March 29, 2017 Food

Are you looking for a sweet stop to have a delicious bite and drinks in NYC? Well Nausheen Farishta and I have you covered with two great spots.

When visiting NYC, one of the things we had planned to do was find a great spot to have tea. The Lobby Lounge was one of the most highly recommended tea spots, for their Afternoon Tea.

The Lobby Lounge is located inside the Mandrin Oriental Hotel is located at 80 Columbus Circle at 60th Street in New York City.

When first entering the hotel, we rode the elevator to one of the top floors to enter the restaurant area.

There are more than 8 different teas to choose from. I choose the Organic Jasmine Pearl tea which was lovely.

Shortly after we received the tea our lovely waitress brought out some freshly baked ginger scones and Devonshire cream tea sandwiches. These delicious pastries were served with a selection of jams and honey.

The next course was a tower full of little foods.

The food included black truffle organic egg salad, raisin & nut bread, chives on a mini brioche, caramelized sweet potato and goat cheese, rosemary focaccia, smoked salmon éclair and smoked turkey with a white cheddar and herb spread.

We also received more pastries along with the food. This round of pastries included pumpkin roulade, black sesame financier, salted caramel macaron chocolate dulce de leche tart, key lime pie and maple cream puffs.

I would highly recommend calling ahead for a reservation. We were told this is not only to ensure you have a table but so you can get a table with a great view like we did.

Our table gave us a great view. This was overall such a cute and lovely spot to grab a drink and snack.

This was a lovely place to drink and snack on some very interesting and delicate foods. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was stupendous. I would say this is a must do at least once in NYC.

Nausheen Farishta from www.globe-gazers.com is sharing one of her favorite treat spots in NYC.

Before my first trip to New York, I had seen lots of photos of this sweet treat on Instagram and knew I had to give it a go. We headed to Milk Bar in the East Village on a warm, sunny day and stepped into the dim, pink-lighted shop.
In line, on the way to the counter, I grabbed a compost cookie because I just couldn’t resist. But, that wasn’t the main event and I tucked it away for later.
When it was our turn to order, I got the cereal milk soft serve with cornflakes and chocolate chips. They say the soft serve tastes like the milk at the bottom of your cereal bowl, and it does!

If that’s your thing, definitely give it a go. Me? I realized that the photos were more appealing than the treat itself.
